Passenger Attendant - Bus Host Job
A bus host, or passenger attendant, ensures a comfortable, safe, and enjoyable journey by welcoming passengers, assisting with seating, providing refreshments, and maintaining onboard cleanliness. Key responsibilities include managing safety procedures, responding to inquiries, and coordinating with the driver to ensure a positive travel atmosphere and timely, safe service.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
Passenger Service & Comfort: Greet passengers upon boarding, assist with baggage, and ensure seating comfort.
Safety Enforcement: Ensure safety protocols are followed, such as monitoring seatbelt usage and assisting during emergencies.
Onboard Services: Distribute refreshments, snacks, or other amenities during the trip.
Communication: Announce travel information, provide updates on stops, and handle passenger questions or complaints.
Maintenance & Cleanliness: Monitor the cabin throughout the journey to keep it tidy, including cleaning up spills or debris.
Driver Coordination: Work with the bus driver to ensure the schedule is met and communicate any issues during the trip.
Requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Ability to speak English and Spanish fluently. Some positions available require fluency in Brazilian Portuguese/Spanish.
- Authorization to work in the US
- Excellent Customer Service: Ability to interact professionally and warmly with passengers.
- Communication Skills: Clear verbal communication for announcements and customer assistance.
- Attention to Detail: Ensuring all safety checks and passenger needs are met.
- Stamina: Ability to work for long hours and handle physically active tasks.
- Professionalism: Maintaining a positive and calm demeanor, especially in high-paced or emergency situations.
