- Clinical Applications Specialist SW or SE
Description
We are currently looking for Southwest (preferably CA, NV) and Southeast Clinical Applications Specialists. This role interacts with both internal and external customers including physicians, practice personnel and sales personnel. The Clinical Applications Specialist is an experienced ophthalmic technician and clinical educator who travels frequently and always represents the company with the highest degree of professionalism.
Responsibility:
- Create customers for life and brand advocates by providing best-in-class education and training to ODs, MDs and their teams on Visionix branded products.
- Provide technical, clinical training, education and ongoing support to our customers on all Visionix corporate product lines.
- Provides on-site and/or remote clinical application support to customers by providing scientific, technical information in response to inquiries regarding use all Visionix corporate medical devices.
- Execute installation/training assigned per the schedule.
- Travel to installation sites while adhering to Visionix’s Travel Policy.
- Unpack and assemble units according to Visionix’s and peer instructions.
- Follow established best practices when providing client-facing training and demonstration. Work with the CAS team to constantly improve and refine this content for a variety of users, including ODs, MDs and staff.
- Provides clear and accurate documentation of each site visit via a standardized reporting mechanism within 7 days of completion of the visit.
- Assist the sales team with technical demonstrations when assigned.
- Identifies and reports all adverse events and device deficiencies per company protocol.
- Communicate suggestions and problems to Director.
- Assist with service department as directed by Director.
- Assist in the build, training and demonstration of equipment at national meetings and tradeshows across the country when assigned.
- Assist developing training aids and videos to assist our clients and staff.
- Developing and presenting formal educational programs, and effective collaboration with other healthcare members required.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:

- Experience: Five plus years of Optometry or Ophthalmology Tech work-up experience required. Must have a strong knowledge base on OCT!
- Education: Degree or equivalent ophthalmic experience is preferred.
- JCAHPO: Current CCOA, COA, COT, or COMT certification gets priority.
- Advanced OCT and refractive experience required and will only be considered.
- Oral/written skills and previous experience communicating complex theoretical and technical concepts to healthcare members.
- Ability to address/train and adjust to groups of people at different levels of education.
- Extensive travel will be required (80% or higher at times)
- Must be able to travel in the US without restriction (air and ground).
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows OS and Office Products.
- Computer and networking skills desired.
- Problem solving skills required.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple goals.
- Ability to maintain sufficient personal credit cards for expenses to be reimbursed by Visionix.
- Stable home internet connection able to be upgraded to 10 MBs or higher.
- Proximity to major (hub) airport a major plus.
- Ability to work occasional weekends.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a major plus.
